There’s been a lot of conversation lately about how gig platforms treat the people who do the work. Stories about algorithms that penalize dedicated workers, fees with names that sound like they help drivers but actually don’t, and systems designed to squeeze every last percentage point out of “human assets.”

We can’t speak to how other companies operate. But we can tell you exactly how Clotheslyne works.

Tips Go to Clotheslyners. Period.

When you tip your Clotheslyner, 100% of that tip goes directly to them. Not 90%. Not “most of it.” All of it. Always has, always will.

We don’t use tips to subsidize base pay. We don’t have algorithms that reduce what we pay Clotheslyners when customers are generous. Your tip is exactly what it should be: a thank-you that goes straight to the person who washed, dried, and folded your laundry.

Fair Pay, No Games

We don’t track “desperation scores.” We don’t have hidden metrics that give worse assignments to people who accept lower-paying jobs. We don’t penalize Clotheslyners for being reliable.

One of our top Clotheslyner earned $38,000 last year. That’s real income, earned by someone in your community, doing work they’re good at. Some Clotheslyners have told us they want to invest in a second station at home because they love the work and want to take on more customers. That’s the kind of platform we’re trying to build—one where people can actually grow, not just merely survive.

Neighbors, Not “Human Assets”

We’re a small team. Moms, dads, sisters, brothers who put our blood, sweat and tears at Clotheslyne because we believed there was a better way to connect people who need laundry done with people who are great at doing it all while providing a proper pay to the gig economy workers.

Our Clotheslyners aren’t resource nodes in a database. They’re Johanna in North Carolina who fits in loads while her kids are at school. They’re Michelle in Rhode Island who takes pride in her entrepreneurship and folding technique. They’re your neighbors, and we think they deserve to be treated that way.

Straightforward Pricing

When you see our prices, that’s what you pay. No “Priority Fees” that don’t actually prioritize anything. No “Driver Benefit Fees” that go to corporate lobbying. No psychological tricks designed to make standard service worse so premium feels better.

Just laundry. Done, folded, delivered, your way. By someone who’s treated right.

Why This Matters
